Cancer cells proliferated, patient turned to Chinese medicine, cured in three years

The patient of this case was a female from Mainland China who had studied in France. She was 36 years old and married when she first came to my clinic. Her breast cancer had shown signs of proliferation when she first came. When I first saw her, her face was flushed and she was in good spirit. She described in detail her condition. Few years ago when she was in France, she was diagnosed with malignant neoplasia in her left thyroid. She had had a surgery to have it and, at the same time, the right thyroid remove. After the surgery, she underwent thirty times electrotherapy. When she was just recovering from the surgery, adenoma was discovered in her left breast. Feeling helpless, she had her left breast resected and had had four chemotherapy injection. Afterwards, she felt like she had survived from the brink of death. However, not too long ago, a large number of small-sized tumors were found in her lungs and the right thyroid location. She began to lose confidence in western medicine treatment. Later, referred by a friend, she came to my clinic to seek Chinese medicine treatment. She said she often felt like she was losing her mind and couldn’t focus and her physical condition had declined a lot.

I believed the reason patient’s face was flushed was that her heart was weakened due to damages from the chemotherapy. A weak heart led to long-term brain ischemia, which promoted rapid heartbeat. As a result, an increased amount of blood was sent to the brain. The heart would need to be strengthened and blockages in the brain removed. Subsequently, blood flow would return to normal and the flush would eventually fade away. One week after patient started medication she came for a follow-up visit. Her complexion was lighter as expected and her face was not flushed anymore. Most of the urine samples she brought were light orange-red, indicating that there was blood stasis in her heart. She said that her sleep condition fluctuated, good sometimes and bad other times. She often saw the faces of old friends in her dreams. After taking the medicine, her whole body would become hot, she would sweat a little while sleeping, her stool would be watery and the surgery area of her thyroid would feel stinging pain. I checked her blood test report and it was generally good. Various cancer index (CA15.3, CA125, CA19.9 CA 72.4, CEA) were all normal and only the level of thyroid hormone (T4) was too high. To lower thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), I advised her to continue taking thyroxine for a period of time before she stopped to supplement the deficiency caused by the thyroidectomy.

At the third follow-up visit, she was all smile and full of energy. She said there had been some pain in her liver, her whole body had been itchy and had felt stinging pain at her neck tumor. However, after one week, the stinging pain had disappeared, itch had reduced and there was no more pain in her chest. Her stool had become normal sausage shaped and she could sleep for an average of more than eight hours. At her ninth follow-up visit, the stinging pain reappeared and the position where her breast was removed felt slight stinging pain too. Her left eye, near the forehead, had swollen a little but disappeared later on.

Physical strength improved, slept well at night

Although patient was sick, she insisted on exercising and taking walks in the park near her house every day. Before, she would feel tired after walking for two laps. Now she could walk up to three laps and still did not feel tired. No wonder she said her physical strength had improved quite a bit. She had tried to run but provided her condition then, she still lacked the strength. I suggested her taking ginseng to enhance her energy. She agreed to give it a try for three to four weeks and see what happened. She slept well at night and her dreams felt real. She even saw her late mother and didn’t want to leave her in her dream, hoping she would not be awakened. All these phenomena were due to an increase of blood to the brain, activating the nervous system. The itch on her body and stinging pain were the effect of the medication clearing the meridians and removing vascular obstruction. As her condition gradually improved, the frequency of feeling itch and pain gradually decreased. Her frequency of defecation increased from once a day to two or three times a day. In general, the treatment had been effective. At the eighteenth follow-up visit, she said since taking ginseng, her physical strength had improved significantly. She could walk for more than three laps and would not feel tired. In addition, she said since she had reduced her daily chores, she felt more energetic, however, I advised her to not change her daily routine to see if her physical strength could be maintained.

Patient could walk faster than her husband probably because she exercised more frequently. She could even play badminton, a strenuous exercise that is physically demanding. Before she became ill, she could play for two hours continuously. She could now play for up to half an hour, which is not bad physically for her condition. Before, she was afraid to go to crowded places because somehow it gave her a sense of fear. This was a result of the chemotherapy, after which her heart was damaged, causing chronic hypoxia in the brain. One day, since her treatment, she went to visit a dentist in the crowded Central area. To her surprise, she felt nothing and did not feel uncomfortable. Once she and her husband went hiking and she was surprised at how good her physical fitness was. Although she was sweating a lot, she did not feel sick or out of breath at all.

Most of the tiny tumors in lungs and right thyroid disappeared

At the twenty-fourth follow-up visit, patient told me she felt pain when she pressed the location of the liver, the spot below the right side of her chest. I explained that it was due to obstruction in the liver, such as stasis in the liver, fat, dead liver cells, etc. Once the liver was cleared, the pain would be gone. After a period of time, like I said, the pain was gone. When she took an X-ray examination of her lungs and thyroid, report indicated no proliferation and that they were under control. It was certain that it was the effect of taking my Chinese medicine. She was glad that her efforts in the past six months had not been wasted. She rarely had the feeling of stinging and ants biting pain on her neck and breast. Due to heavy rain, she did not go hiking. She stayed in the house doing squat and stand exercise, which she found quite effective so she continued to do so. At the thirty-eighth follow-up visit, when I told her to do the squat and stand exercise, she could do it very quickly without gasping. Her condition was good which should had been the result of a strengthened heart. At the thirty-ninth follow-up visit, she said she felt stinging pain and itchy at her neck, breasts and armpits frequently. I told her not to worry for that was the phenomenon of meridian being dredged.

Recently, when she and her husband went hiking, she was able to hike to the top of the mountain only taking a break once. Before the treatment, she would need to stop and rest several times. This showed that her condition had improved by a big leap forward. Later, she gave me another good news that after her full body examination, report had shown that her liver enzymes and functions were completely normal. The cancer index was within the normal range and the thyroid hormone (T4) was much higher than normal. She thought it was weird because her thyroid had been resected and had been taking western medicine that increased T4. Nine months earlier, her blood test had shown her TSH was slightly below normal. I suggested her to stop taking the Western medicine that increased T4 and see how the body responded. She agreed with my advice. After a few weeks, she said there had not been anything unusual with her body. However, she felt more relaxed and her energy level was better than ever. My analysis was that TSH might have been increased in the body to supplement itself with the required T4. It might also be that the brain cells had the sufficient supply of blood in order to produce the required thyroxine.

Examination report, everything normal

After patient had stopped taking western medicine, she had gained about three kilograms of weight and her face was chubbier. Everything else was normal. She had also been busy looking after children of friends every day and thus feeling a little tired. I had referred her to do a blood test again. The blood test report indicated that her TSH, T3, T4, Free T3 and FreeT4 were all normal; only white blood cells and hemoglobin were a little higher. We all thought that this was incredible, even with the thyroid gland removed, her body was still able to secrete thyroxine and thyroid hormone at a normal level. The human body is really amazing. I was very pleased that only after about a year of my treatment, patient’s illness had gradually disappeared. She wanted to check her physical condition so had had a full body examination. Results indicated that only one small tumor was detected in the lung, the other tumors had disappeared. Also, the small lymph node tumor on the neck had not enlarged nor proliferated, it remained the same. Everything was normal on her left breast, there was no new adenoma on her right breast and there was no problem in the cervix. I told her that her condition had returned to normal, although, based on urine sample observation, there was still stasis in the heart and toxins in the liver. If she continued treatment, her physical fitness would improve even more. She said that her physical fitness had not yet fully recovered to the condition before her illness but it was pretty good already.

Since patient health had been better, she took a trip to her hometown in Changsha to see the cherry blossoms. She had walked for three hours and her body could totally handle. However, may be she had been away from her hometown for too long, in the five days there, she felt acclimatized and was constipated. After returning to Hong Kong, she had defecation again, probably due to the spicy food she had. She asked me if she had to continue to take medicine. I asked her, instead, if her physical condition had returned to the condition before her illness. She said not yet. So I further asked her if she felt that her body had improved after taking the medicine, in particular, comparing when she was in Changsha and had stopped medication for one week to after she returned to Hong Kong and started taking the medicine again. She admitted that her physical condition had improved after taking medicine. So my opinion was if she could afford financially, then she should continue with treatment. In addition, she had had a blood test that showed TSH abnormalities. If she stopped taking her Chinese medicine, her condition would certainly be impacted, especially with the thyroid completely resected. I suggested that if she stopped taking the Chinese medicine, she would need to take western medicine TSH supplements. As each time she travelled, she would often discontinue the medicine. I told her if she decided to continue the treatment, it was advisable to take the medicine continuously and not be interrupted until her condition completely recovered and returned to normal. Then after, if her TSH was deficient, she could supplement it with western medicine.

Patient took a blood test again later. The result indicated that her thyroxine and free thyroxine level were all off the standard level. I believed it was a result of not taking western medicine. Also, there were three indicators of liver enzymes that exceeded the standard. I think this was the result of a strengthened heart, which helped bring out toxins from the tip of the liver where blood vessels are thinner, a normal reaction. Her western doctor had also given her a report indicating that the small tumor on the right side of the neck had disappeared, however, lymph node stone was detected on the left, requiring her to take thyroxine, which I thought was nothing to worry about. However, my analysis was that the western doctor’s concern was unreasonable because before patient came to me, the lymph node stone on the neck had grown. After she stopped taking the western medicine, the stone had shrunk? Patient felt that her health had been much better. She wanted to have a baby and asked for my opinion whether it was suitable for her to be pregnant. I told her that in terms of her condition, which was a lot better, pregnancy was no problem. However, from an age point of view, she was 37 years old, even without sickness, the eggs were aging. There was a greater chance of having a child with a problem, such as Down syndrome, autism, etc. I also shared with her the study of my treatment on autism. Furthermore, she had had chemotherapy. That would have certainly hurt the eggs. So I hoped she would consider carefully before making a decision.

Patient later had another blood test and the result was very good. Her liver enzymes level had returned to normal. I was very pleased to hear that and happy for her. After all, everyone wants to be beautiful, especially for a woman to have had the breast removed, there would be, to a certain extent, psychological impact. She asked me for my opinion about implanting prosthetic breast. I told her that having a surgery would require general anesthesia, which would definitely hurt the brain. After the surgery, she would need to take antibiotics, which would cause serious damage to the liver. Also, the surgery might possibly stimulate the spread of cancer cells, the risk was too high so I did not agree. Shortly after, she needed to go the United States for a job. Before she left, she gave me a plaque with eight words on it: 「杏林聖手,懸壺濟世」, which means a doctor with great medical skills, saves the world with his treatment. Patient was first treated on February 18, 2011 and ended on February 14, 2014. She had stopped for a period of time in between and had a total of about three years of treatment and 113 visits. Patient has fully recovered.
